Shoes on my front porch told me a story today
Home
It’s where we grow up
It’s where we raise our kids
It’s where kids & teens learn values
It’s where parents do their best to teach values
Some live off the grid and some live in smart houses
At the end of the day
Home is what you make it
What we learn & teach follow us forever
But what if the power goes out?
We kick off our shoes on the front porch
We can still talk, laugh, read, hug, play games, walk, tell stories and more
We make long lasting memories when the power goes off
Let’s bring back the basics to HOME
My heart was full because the porch was full of shoes
We hung out like the power had gone out!
Our grown kids still come home
They do have a few values that are different from what we taught but the most important one stuck : Family First, always.
Slow down Mom’s and Dad’s of tweens and teens.
Do it for you teens and for yourself!
Remember, you are human too.
Enjoy the day like the power got turned off! Keep it simple.
